The Baltimore Ravens squeezed out a dramatic 35-34 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday, a win that improved Baltimore’s record to 7-3 and dealt a blow to Cincinnati’s playoff aspirations as they dropped to 4-6.
Lamar Jackson’s 5-yard jump pass to Rashod Bateman gave the Ravens a go-ahead touchdown with just 1:49 remaining. The Bengals, refusing to back down, responded with a 70-yard drive in nine plays. Joe Burrow connected with Ja’Marr Chase for Chase’s third touchdown of the night, a 5-yard grab with only 38 seconds left, bringing Cincinnati within one point. However, Cincinnati’s attempt at a 2-point conversion fell short when Burrow’s pass went incomplete—despite missed penalties on Baltimore for a defensive hold and a hit to Burrow’s head.
The Ravens encountered their own share of penalties in the closing minutes, racking up 35 yards on three infractions: a facemask by Marlon Humphrey, roughing the passer by Broderick Washington, and an offsides by Kyle Van Noy. Another facemask on Ravens defender Nnamdi Madubuike went uncalled. Nevertheless, Burrow converted on a critical fourth-and-10 to Andrei Iosivas, maintaining the Bengals’ drive until Baltimore finally recovered the onside kick to seal the win.
Jackson finished with 290 yards and four touchdowns, completing a stunning second-half comeback for Baltimore, which trailed 14-7 at halftime. The Ravens’ offense ignited in the second half, scoring on four consecutive drives. Receiver Tylan Wallace also delivered a career-best performance, racking up 115 yards, including an 84-yard touchdown—the longest TD pass of Jackson’s career.
Despite the loss, Burrow and Chase put up impressive numbers for Cincinnati. Burrow threw for 428 yards and four touchdowns, going 34-of-56, while Chase hauled in 11 passes for 264 yards.
