Liverpool’s Alisson Sidelined for at Least One Month with Hamstring Injury

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to miss at least a month of action due to a hamstring injury sustained during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace. The Brazil international was substituted in the 79th minute, with Vitezslav Jaros stepping in.

The club does not expect Alisson to return before the next international break, which runs from November 11 to 19. During his absence, Liverpool will face crucial Premier League matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Aston Villa, as well as Champions League clashes with RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, and a Carabao Cup fixture against Brighton.

Caoimhin Kelleher, who missed the Palace match due to illness, is expected to replace Alisson in goal. Liverpool manager Arne Slot confirmed Kelleher’s role as the team’s backup keeper, saying, “It is clear that he [Kelleher] is the number two.”

Kelleher filled in for Alisson earlier in the season, playing in a Premier League win over Bournemouth and a League Cup victory against West Ham. Liverpool’s schedule doesn’t ease up after the international break, with a return fixture against Southampton followed by high-profile games against Real Madrid, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and a Merseyside derby against Everton.
