Scottie Scheffler has risen to G stardom with a season reminiscent of Tiger Woods at his peak, and he’s earning like Woods, too. Scheffler clinched the season-ending Tour Championship, securing the FedEx Cup title and marking his seventh PGA Tour victory in 2024—the most since Woods achieved the same feat in 2007.
Scheffler’s on-course success translated into staggering earnings. He raked in $29.2 million in prize money alone, which is about 9.2% of the $317.4 million total purse from the tournaments he competed in. To put that in perspective, Woods earned $10.9 million in 2007, accounting for 9.7% of the $112.5 million available at the time.
The 28-year-old golfer also bagged massive bonuses: $25 million for winning the FedEx Cup and $8 million for topping the Comcast Business Tour Top 10, pushing his total earnings to an astonishing $62.2 million this year—excluding endorsements and other income.
That figure will only rise as the PGA’s Player Impact Program bonuses are paid out. Scheffler’s success has left his peers trailing far behind; Xander Schauffele follows with $29.3 million in combined earnings, while Collin Morikawa and Rory McIlroy sit at $25.3 million and $19.2 million, respectively.
Scheffler’s remarkable year hasn’t been without its off-course moments, either. He welcomed his first child, a baby boy, in May, just before the PGA Championship. However, he also made headlines when he was briefly arrested while trying to drive into Valhalla Golf Club before the tournament’s second round. The charges were later dropped, allowing Scheffler to focus on what has become a season for the ages.
