Mohamed Salah remains unfazed about his contract situation as he enters the final year of his Liverpool deal, which currently earns him around £350,000 ($461,000) per week, plus bonuses. Despite no new extension offer from the club, the 32-year-old forward isn’t letting the uncertainty affect him.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Salah said, “I don’t think much about it. With time, you gain wisdom. I came into this season knowing I have one year left, so I decided to enjoy it. I’m not thinking about the contract or the future. I’m taking it one day at a time and appreciating the moment.”
Salah has started the new season in top form, scoring in Liverpool’s wins over Ipswich Town and Brentford. He has also embraced the changes introduced by new head coach Arne Slot, who has brought a different tactical approach compared to Jürgen Klopp.
“We play a different style now,” Salah explained. “The manager wants us to control the ball more, whereas with Klopp, it was often about counter-pressing and attacking in their half. Now, we sometimes slow the game down, which is a big change but also pushes you out of your comfort zone. I enjoyed the old way, and I’m enjoying this too.”
As Liverpool prepares for their upcoming match against Manchester United, Salah remains focused. With 14 goals in 15 appearances against United, he has the best record of any Liverpool player against the Red Devils. However, breaking records isn’t his main concern.
“I just focus on helping the team win,” Salah said. “If you score goals, you feel like you’ve done your job. I’m doing my best for the club, and sometimes, luck is on your side, sometimes not.”
For now, Salah is content to live in the moment and enjoy his football, leaving the future to take care of itself.
